Silence of the Dandelions…

2,000 Suspended Dandelions by Regine Ramseier

As an architect I’m always on the lookout for new materials, materials that guaranteed will last as long as my buildings lasts, you know: The weakest link… But imagine how great it would be to add a bit of transience, some death and decay that will remind us that buildings, as mankind, are not static.

Swiss artist Regine Ramseier, took the ultimate symbol of temporariness, the dandelion and made it her ceiling for a while. The dandelion, with her seeds floating on the wind, leaving just an empty plant.

So: how to do this yorself:
1st) Collect 2000 dandelions in a field
2nd) Spray them, one by one with some adhesive
3rd) Place them in a special palette in the back of your (much too tiny) car
4th) Hang them gently on the ceiling, head down…
RESULT: Fragile Fluffy FlowerFUNK!
